Change Is In The Air

I'm not going to beat around the bush here. My parents are selling there house. I'll miss it, they'll miss it. But someone else is going to LOVE it! It's a great house. Check it out! I made a blog for it!

New Blog!

Welcome to my new blog! I still have all of the old post from my other blog, but, this one is shiny and new! Feel free to comment, read, share, etc.

Sitting Here, Thinking

I'm just sitting on my couch, surfing Follow Me on Pinterest, watching a movie con mi madre, wishing I wasn't still sick.

News:

I applied for another job. As much as I wish my photography could keep me out of the rat race, it can't yet. It will after I finish at Hallmark, but as I've seen, probably not before.

And, I'm really quite happy.

And if I don't get this job, my life may get another mix up... :)

Playing Well With Others

It's been a busy few weeks. I've been taking pictures, making props con mi madre, visiting with family, and trying to get things together so I can actually get paid for what I love to do.

And here is a look-see at what has been going on. this week i worked with the talented fabricio alvarado, fellow artist and high school compadre. he transforms photos into real works of art. visit his website for more information and be sure to like his facebook page and  subscribe to his youtube channel for a chance to have your picture turned into a masterpiece! And he's FAST. Super fast! This painting here took him a little over 4 hours. No wonder he calls it Speed Painting!

watch fabricio make this photo:

Hair-Tastic

Today, my hair has decided to express itself. It's big. Okay, big for my hair. I'm just feeling nostalgic for those good old "good" hair days. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved my hair after I chopped it all off. It's the growing out stage that I hate. And that's where I am now. At least my mullet is gone. Hopefully by the end of the summer my hair will be back to this. I liked this hair do. But I'll skip the bangs this time.

And yes, this is my natural hair color. Thank goodness for summer.

The House Always Wins

My family has recently discovered a fun new game. Bananagrams. This game is seriously so much fun! Brian and Sarah told us that in their "house rules," if you can spell the word "sasquatch" you win.

Sunday night, after our group sadly shrank, we decided to play another round or two of this fantastically fun game. We played on teams, Brian and Sarah, Mom and Molly, me and Dad. Well, it must have been Dad's lucky Father's Day! Check this out! We got all of the letters to spell "sasquatch" (except the C) right away!

Thank you Bananagrams for making my family even more fun!

Lots of Love

My baby brother got married last Thursday and had a reception on Friday! All of our siblings came home with their own wee families to celebrate! It was a chaotic and fun whirlwind of a weekend. I have to say though, my brothers sure know how to pick 'em. I am so lucky to have the absolute BEST sister in laws a girl could ever wish for.

After the wedding and reception and opening presents, we took some much needed family pictures. We piled everyone on the front steps and took as many pictures as we could. Many thanks to our sweet neighbor Darlene for pushing the button and not dropping my camera! These just may be the best family pictures that we've had so far! And they are going to be the last ones we take of everyone together at this house. The realtor is coming on Thursday afternoon to take measurements so once we get rid of/stow things/finish making last minute repairs and finishing touches it will be ready to put on the market. This is really happening! Mom even found another house for us to go look at that will have PLENTY of room for everyone and our growing families to come stay at! There's even a huge backyard! Keep your fingers crossed! We're looking at that house on Thursday too!

Here are some of my favorites: (don't worry, there are plenty more)

Basket Case

I've been gathering up props for pictures. Yesterday, I found a basket that is practically perfect for baby pictures. Apparently it's practically perfect for Bitsy, too.

I've Been...

I've been taking pictures! Lots of pictures! And I'm going to keep taking pictures! And Saturday it didn't rain. I thought I would take a picture of the sky to remember what it looked like.

I put more pictures up on my photo blog here.

Hallmark Is Not Just For Cards

My life is partially in jumbles, and, I'll admit, I like it to be in jumbles every so often. It keeps things interesting. It pushes me to grow and become more of who I want myself to be, if that makes sense.

This most recent jumble brought me back to the eastern seaboard. I love it here. It's my home.

Currently I am trying to figure out what to do next in my life. I am weighing pros and cons of everything; making mental lists; googling and craigslist-ing every place that sounds interesting to me.

I found my dream house in Providence, RI. It could be absolutely gorgeous. If I had enough for the down payment, I would buy it. Honestly, this house is run down and needs a lot of help. But I have found myself dreaming of how I would fix it, what kind of floors I would put down (Brazilian Hickory wood floors, laminate is okay too, it looked great in the store), which ceiling fans would go best in each room, what blinds I would put in the windows, etc. You get the picture. This house has nearly 5000 sq. ft. of living space and it is only $49,900. It has a turret. It is only an hour away from the beach. I am in love. I need a good project where I can smash things and create and paint and make a home.

I am a little lost right now. But I am happy. I can see honest-to-goodness good things happening in my life. Little miracles.

Another little miracle just fell into my lap. As I was typing this blog post, I got a phone call from what may possibly be the perfect school for me. I have been trying to figure out what to do with my life and I think that I am going to change schools. I don't think that I will be going back to BYU, if you want to know more of my reasoning, you can ask me. Anyway. I really think that I am going to make photography my thing. And my mom was helping me search for schools and we came across The Hallmark Institute of Photography. It is right up my alley. I mean, this school is amazing. I had a great interview today. They looked at my pictures and said that I should definitely apply and come up for a visit. All I need now are two letters of recommendation, an essay, and a boat load of money. And when I say boat, I mean about as much as it would cost to buy a boat. Cross your fingers and toes for me. I really want this!

A Good Giggle

Earlier tonight I went with my oldest brother to hang out at Barnes and Noble. We were on our way out when we passed by the "Humor" section. Boy-howdy there were some funny books. I found one in particular that I am planning on checking out of the library. It's called Sleepwalk with Me: and Other Painfully True Stories.

A Break

For over 2000 miles, my car ran perfectly. Not a hiccup. As soon as Breezi and I reach her house, and go out to eat, my car dies. It gave out in the parking lot of Max and Erma's. They make delicious burgers, just in case you were wondering.

AAA came and tried to get it started. The battery is fine. Either the starter or the neutral... something in the transmission is dead and or dying. The guy that came to tow my car was amazingly nice. AND he got it to start and showed me a sweet trick of how to get my car to start again if it acts up. The trick is great, but, I am going to go get this stinker of a car looked at and fixed tomorrow morning. I thought I would be home by now. Oh well. Luckily, I got stranded with wonderful people! Just look at these sweet nieces and nephews of mine!

Now I need to get pictures of my sweet brother and sister-in-law before I leave!

Dedicated

I have decided that I love photography. It's taken over my blog basically. So, in order to not overwhelm this blog with pictures, I started a new blog just for my pictures! Yay pictures! Plus, I am going to try to make it work as a possible side job. Yay money! Because I have no money! Yay broke! No... that's wrong. Boo broke...

Anyway, here is a link to my photography blog. Don't judge me because I don't have anything up yet. But I promise to take lots of pictures and post the really good ones. You don't have to vote on anything on that site. :)

Packing

I am moving. Across the country. With my sister-in-law (I still can't wrap my head around that word, it sounds so impersonal). And my cat. In my car that has no cruise control and a bum of a CD player and my iPod set up (I will take a picture). With most of my earthly belongings jammed between the seats and every nook and cranny. Well, not the front seats. Comfort is essential. This is one pile of my stuff. I have more to pack.

There will always be room for rolos though.

Finale

Thank you for your input/opinions! These are the photos that (I think) I am going to hand in tomorrow!

Circle Circle Dot Dot

Now I got my cootie shot! Okay, so I've had it for a while now. I'm safe. Cootie free.
Since I am cootie free, I wandered around taking pictures today for my photography class final. It was seriously pouring. I got pretty wet. In fact, I am still wet.
For this project I am working on a series of at least 5 pictures, and my theme is circles. Which ones do you like the most?

My final is tomorrow and boy am I excited for this semester to end!
