An Accident

It was an accident:
This weekend for my photo class, we have to do a series of images about something that we care about. I want to do a series on domestic abuse. Can I take your picture?

P.S. this is not a real bruise, it's makeup. Cheap lipstick and eyeshadow actually. :)

Pants

It is official. I ran out of clean pants. I resisted the temptation to wear my pajamas to class yesterday, which, in hindsight may have been the better choice. I also resisted the temptation to wear my harem pants to class, or outside at all, as a result of my being repeatedly told by some lovelies that they do not make my hind end look all that great. So, they stayed in my drawer waiting for... TODAY! I will wear them until after all of my laundry is washed and dried. I may even wear them outside, as I have lots to do, some of which involves going outside and walking my cat. (jealousy ensues) :)

My clean wardrobe now consists of piles of cardigans and pajama pants that may look more like pantaloons.
Thankfully, the weather is getting warmer around here and I can once again start wearing skirts and dresses without whimpering continuously about how cold I am and how unpleasant being cold is. (I don't like winter, fyi)

Time to do some laundry.

Portraits

I took a few pictures this weekend. Okay, tons of pictures. Unfortunately I didn't understand how to really use my camera until my darling brother Brian showed me how, in the middle of my taking pictures of both he and his lovely wife Sarah. Thank you guys! And thank you Brian for showing me how to use my camera! Luckily, I got some good shots the night before and some really fun ones of Brian and Sarah! It helps that they're so cute!

I have to turn one, or two, in for my portrait assignment on Tuesday. Let me know which ones you like the most! :)

I welcome your opinion on which ones are grade-worthy.

For clarification, you can choose from any of the following portraits. I could only post 4 or 5 pictures at a time, so they are spread across 3 posts:

(Disclaimer: Some of these photos are just for fun. Meh, no they're not! I LOVE THEM!)

Can I Take Your Picture?

I'm taking a photography class right now, and I can honestly say that I love it. I may not be very good, but, I am determined. I am determined to hone my skills and improve my ideas and vision. Also, I need to understand how to use my camera in the dark. It's tricky. And no one likes a flash. It's also tricky when your light source dies in the middle of taking pictures. But, it doesn't mean the picture taking process is dead. It just means you have a new opportunity.

So, can I take your picture?
